My Mother's Purse
I finally got a purse completed that I was sewing for my mother. It is a pattern from www.creativethimble.com, and it is called the "as you like it" purse. You can make a different flap for each season or your mood - as you like it! I made her a Christmas flap and an everyday one. She had asked me to make her this purse (she saw mine and loved it), so it won't be a surprise, but I'm glad I got it done before Christmas. Oh, so much to do . . .
How neat, Aleta...Your mother will love it. You are SO lucky to still have your mother.. My Mom died in 1991. George's mother is 88 and his dad is 96. Does your Mom live nearby? Is she in good health?
The nice thing about this purse is that you can adapt it for any time of the year, or mood. Betsy - Yes, I do feel very fortunate to have both of my parents. My Dad is 88 and my Mom is 84. They both live 8 hours away from me, in Pennsylvania. Luckily both my brother and sister still live close to them so they can check on them, do things for them, etc., but right now my parents both live at home and are still independent. My Dad is in a bowling league and stays active.
Rabbits cookin' coffee -- that's what the locals call it. But here in this little hollow in East Tennessee, when the hills surrender their misty hostage to reveal the stalwart cedars growing by the stream in our pasture, I know there is no place on earth I would rather be. The welcome mat is out! Come and sit on the porch and chat with me awhile!

ReplyDeleteHow creative, Aleta. And your mom will have a "new" purse throughout the year.
