Country Dolls
I like to make cloth country dolls. Here is my latest one that I made for my niece. I've never kept any for myself. I prefer the more primitive style. I crocheted the edging on the dress.
Wow Aleta---I had no idea you were so talented. I LOVE them all... Wish I could do something like that. My Mom 'tried' to teach me to sew--to no avail!!! Oh Well..
I have to give you, Phyllis, the credit for encouraging me to start making dolls, and now I'm hooked!! I love to try various crafts. I knit, crochet, cross stitch, needlepoint, embroider, sew, punch needle, felt, quilt a little bit. . . did I miss anything? I think that's it. I like to learn new things and experiment with new techniques. It does keep me busy, since I'm retired. Betsy, if you want to try to do something crafty, just get a book and give it a whirl. That's how I learned most of what I do. There are all kinds of resources out there, especially with the internet!
Rabbits cookin' coffee -- that's what the locals call it. But here in this little hollow in East Tennessee, when the hills surrender their misty hostage to reveal the stalwart cedars growing by the stream in our pasture, I know there is no place on earth I would rather be. The welcome mat is out! Come and sit on the porch and chat with me awhile!
I love her,love the crochet edging,she`s cute!phylliso
