Busy Pussy Willow Bush
Spring has definitely sprung in our neck of the woods! Today the temperature surged to 71! The pussy willow bush was loaded with honeybees. It was fun to watch them flying about, sacks of pollen sticking to their legs. I wish I knew where their hive is, but it is probably a farmer's field on the other side of the ridge. I know that honeybees travel far and wide to gather their pollen. Two zebra swallowtail butterflies (presumably male and female) also flitted about the bush and actually landed together so that I could get a family portrait!
Aleta, It's so good to hear from you. I miss you!!!! The bees are probably thrilled to 'eat' at the Pussy Willows. It's spring here ---and even though we haven't been to 70 yet, it's going to happen soon!!!!
How's the memoirs going??? What else are you doing these days??? Hugs, Betsy
Hi, everyone! Betsy: I miss you, too1 My computer has been a real pain but I did a scan and it seems to be working a little faster, so maybe I can get on here more. As for the memoir -- I work on it sporadically. I like to think I'm ALWAYS working on it even when I'm not actively writing because I'm always planning my next chapter in my head. It is "plotting" along! I've also been planting in the garden - lettuce and such, cool weather plants -- and doing some crafting also! We are so glad to have the warm weather. Soon the hummingbirds will be back! Take care, everyone
Rabbits cookin' coffee -- that's what the locals call it. But here in this little hollow in East Tennessee, when the hills surrender their misty hostage to reveal the stalwart cedars growing by the stream in our pasture, I know there is no place on earth I would rather be. The welcome mat is out! Come and sit on the porch and chat with me awhile!
